Level 1

Beginners in Iyengar Yoga.

Last Thursday of the month only. Only open to enrolled students. Booking essential.

Level 2

Regular classes in Iyengar Yoga with a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. Must be confident and comfortable practising Sarvangasana (Shoulderstand) and have an understanding of how to work with any significant joint problems (e.g. knee or back). If unsure, please email to ask (enquiries@hobartiyengar.com).

**Back Care Course

6 week course teaching basic yogic principles in caring for the back and managing back pain.

The next course starts March 10th  2018.

Individual Needs

Recommended for those students who are ill, injured or have a medical condition.

A private class is required initially to assess suitability for this class.

Open Practice

Open to any currently enrolled student.

Private Class

One to one tuition, by prior appointment.


Enrolment Application

To apply, complete the Yoga Class Application Form and email to: enquiries@hobartiyengar.com

Alternatively, post it to: Hobart School of Iyengar Yoga, 4a/105 Liverpool St, Hobart TAS 7000.

Once received, you will be notified if your application has been successful, and you will be asked to pay the class fees within three working days. Payments can be made by direct deposit, cheque or postal order.

We will then confirm your enrolment and advise balance of fees (payable at your first class).


Class Information


From adolescence onwards.


Classes are structured on a basis of calendar monthly enrolment or as a course.

What to wear and bring

Yoga should be practised on an empty stomach.
Comfortable clothing which permits a wide range of movement should be worn (eg. T-shirts with tights or shorts).
All equipment is supplied.

Illness and Injury

The “Individual Needs” class is recommended for those students who have an illness, a medical condition, or are injured. Students at this class follow individualised programmes and are required to attend a private class prior to joining this class.


Monthly Class Fees
Fees are calculated on a four classes per month basis. In calendar months where there are more or less than the standard four classes, class fees will be adjusted accordingly.
